🚨 Cold Callers & Rogue Traders – Please Stay Alert 🚨

We’ve received reports of cold callers operating in the area. While many doorstep callers are genuine, some may be rogue traders looking to take advantage of residents — particularly the elderly or vulnerable.

Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team is here to offer reassurance and a few simple steps to help keep you safe:

👉 You don’t have to open the door to anyone you’re not expecting.
👉 Never feel pressured into making a quick decision. Rogue traders often rush or intimidate.
👉 Always ask for ID, and take time to check it properly — genuine callers won’t mind waiting.
👉 Don’t agree to work on your home from someone who just turns up unannounced.
👉 If in doubt, keep them out.
👉 Consider using a door chain and speak through the door.
👉 Report suspicious activity to Police on 101, or 999 in an emergency. You can also report concerns to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice.
